Latest Updates from Our Project:

Last Day - Stretch Goal + Unboxing
over 1 year ago – Wed, Jun 06, 2018 at 01:58:16 PM

Hi all-

We're on our last day, and it looks very likely that we'll "unlock" our first stretch goal (nicer play cards). This is certainly the most significant of the stretch goals, as these cards comprise the bulk of the game, and the chief mechanic of play.

Anything you can do to spread the word/help push on the last day is greatly appreciated, and certainly helps our odds of getting those nicer cards.

In other news, our friends at World Anvil received a prototype/demo copy of Ironrise (with components we scrapped together - nothing from the final printer, yet), and did an unboxing (below):

We're looking forward to finishing this campaign, and getting to work on everything we need to do to get our beautiful game to you.

Chris (our creative lead) is headed to the Tabletop Network Boardgame Designer's Retreat in Snowbird, Utah tomorrow. If this is the sort of thing that interests you, registration is still open (and you can attend virtually). If you're a fellow game designer, and want to talk shop - reach out!

Thanks again!

Last 48 Hours!
over 1 year ago – Tue, Jun 05, 2018 at 07:10:57 AM

Hey guys-

We're incredibly pleased the project funded already, but excited to see what the last 48 hours may bring. The first (and most significant) stretch goal is easily within striking distance, so we're anticipating that our cards (the most abundant game component) will be high quality material - something that I think can make a difference in games.

Thank you so much for your support, and if you know anyone else who might be interested in Ironrise, share the project - this might be the only run of the game, so the more we get on board, the better!

Last Week! + Character Poll Results + Chris' interview with Nerdarcy
over 1 year ago – Mon, Jun 04, 2018 at 11:00:51 AM

Hi Everyone-

We saw some movement over the weekend, and are now at 110%! We'll be making a marketing/media push for the last 48 hours (starting tomorrow morning), but we're pretty happy with where we are now.

We've closed the previous character poll, where we asked backers who their favorite characters were, and the results are: Hero - Elijah Butler, and Villain - Prime Minister Blackwell.

They're so hot right now
They're so hot right now

We are having Phrixel Studio do this artwork, as we have worked with them for some other Ironrise pieces, and have really liked what we've gotten so far.

Chris had a chat with Nerdarchy in which he discussed a lot of the creative process, as well as role playing roots behind the Ironrise board game. You can check out the full interview below:

Thanks for your continued support, we can't wait to close this campaign and start getting the games ready!

Final Weekend + Back-End Fulfillment Info + Muscular Clown
over 1 year ago – Fri, Jun 01, 2018 at 10:34:10 AM

Hey guys-

We're about to enter our final weekend before this campaign ends (next Thursday). We really appreciate all the support, and are thrilled to get our project out into the world.

Some have inquired regarding shipping costs as well as pledge management post-campaign. We have put the shipping cost up front (and it represents us trying to weigh risk of price changes against losing money on a box, etc), so that we don't give you any surprises months from now. I've had a few bad experiences where shipping was not included in the initial pledge, and was later shocked by the price for shipping I had to add (usually getting EU based games).

We don't enjoy this experience, so we figured you wouldn't. The downside for us is, a lot of the cost is up in the air. It's easy enough to figure out what US shipping will cost us, but anything else depends so heavily on amount of interest (as well as ill advised political maneuvers) which are outside of our control.

In any case, that's all risk we're shouldering in order to get the game out. What you've pledged should be all that you end up paying.

In the same vein of convenience, we're looking to use Backerkit as our post-campaign pledge manager - perhaps some of you have backed projects that use them. The reason for this is similar to the reason for our shipping cost up front - basically that other methods annoy us as backers ourselves.

"What do you need now!? I backed this game, just send it to me, what's all this nonsense!?" is a thought I've had too many times. We've found projects that use Backerkit to be the least infuriating, and they're very good at back-end support - so that's who we want to use.

We'd also like to take this chance to give a big thank you to the crew that made our promotional video, Muscular Clown.

We've known this group for a while, and have always been impressed with the stuff they put out (check out the web series, "The Street Wizard's Apprentice" - inserted below). They were tremendously professional and fun to work with, and gave us a video we were thrilled with from scratch. Concept through execution, it was all Muscular Clown.

Cheers to that lot, and we can't wait to see what they put out next.

Progress Continues + "For Your Consideration"
over 1 year ago – Fri, May 25, 2018 at 08:38:17 AM

Hi Everyone-

We've had another week of advancement, though not as powerful as our day 1 or late week 2 rushes. Our new reviews (positive) will soon be up on the main page, as well as the following video.

This is an episode of "For Your Consideration", from the channel "How To Be A Great Game Master." In it, Guy interviews Chris, our chief creature partner (who created and fleshed out the world setting of Ironrise). This covers a lot, from passion to procedure, so give it a watch!
