Latest Updates from Our Project:

Fulfillment Headway + Smoke Test
almost 6 years ago – Mon, Jun 11, 2018 at 04:55:20 PM

Hi Everyone-

We're making headway on the fulfillment end of things, the first step of which is a "smoke test" we're doing as part of using BackerKit for fulfillment. That means that 5% of you will be receiving surveys from BackerKit, so that we can ensure everything is set up in a way that will work for everyone.

If you're one of those (randomly) selected 5%, your participation will be most appreciated.

Thanks,

Success!
almost 6 years ago – Thu, Jun 07, 2018 at 08:02:58 AM

Thanks to all your support - we did it! And with a stretch goal (the most important one).

I'm sending this update out an hour early, since I'll be on my way to work when the clock actually ticks to zero. We at Ironrise just wanted to send a huge thank you to everyone, as it is a dream come true for us to be able to bring this game, which we've spent 4 years on, to life.

A more complete update will come later today, or perhaps tomorrow, as we figure things out with Kickstarter. I believe the near future will look something like:

1) Kickstarter gathers funds and reconciles any issues (~2 weeks?)

2) We take stock of how many units we should order, where they're going, and how best to fulfill them.

3) The back-and-forth with the printer to ensure everything ends up as it should.

4) We will reconcile mailing addresses with you via our backer support system (we're going with BackerKit - for any who may be familiar with them).

And then eventually you'll have a beautiful new copy of Ironrise!

But this time, a real one, not just a digital rendering.

Last Day - Stretch Goal + Unboxing
almost 6 years ago – Wed, Jun 06, 2018 at 01:58:16 PM

Hi all-

We're on our last day, and it looks very likely that we'll "unlock" our first stretch goal (nicer play cards). This is certainly the most significant of the stretch goals, as these cards comprise the bulk of the game, and the chief mechanic of play.

Anything you can do to spread the word/help push on the last day is greatly appreciated, and certainly helps our odds of getting those nicer cards.

In other news, our friends at World Anvil received a prototype/demo copy of Ironrise (with components we scrapped together - nothing from the final printer, yet), and did an unboxing (below):

We're looking forward to finishing this campaign, and getting to work on everything we need to do to get our beautiful game to you.

Chris (our creative lead) is headed to the Tabletop Network Boardgame Designer's Retreat in Snowbird, Utah tomorrow. If this is the sort of thing that interests you, registration is still open (and you can attend virtually). If you're a fellow game designer, and want to talk shop - reach out!

Thanks again!

Last 48 Hours!
almost 6 years ago – Tue, Jun 05, 2018 at 07:10:57 AM

Hey guys-

We're incredibly pleased the project funded already, but excited to see what the last 48 hours may bring. The first (and most significant) stretch goal is easily within striking distance, so we're anticipating that our cards (the most abundant game component) will be high quality material - something that I think can make a difference in games.

Thank you so much for your support, and if you know anyone else who might be interested in Ironrise, share the project - this might be the only run of the game, so the more we get on board, the better!

Last Week! + Character Poll Results + Chris' interview with Nerdarcy
almost 6 years ago – Mon, Jun 04, 2018 at 11:00:51 AM

Hi Everyone-

We saw some movement over the weekend, and are now at 110%! We'll be making a marketing/media push for the last 48 hours (starting tomorrow morning), but we're pretty happy with where we are now.

We've closed the previous character poll, where we asked backers who their favorite characters were, and the results are: Hero - Elijah Butler, and Villain - Prime Minister Blackwell.

They're so hot right now

We are having Phrixel Studio do this artwork, as we have worked with them for some other Ironrise pieces, and have really liked what we've gotten so far.

Chris had a chat with Nerdarchy in which he discussed a lot of the creative process, as well as role playing roots behind the Ironrise board game. You can check out the full interview below:

Thanks for your continued support, we can't wait to close this campaign and start getting the games ready!
